West London golf society kicked off the 2023 season with a bang on February 16th, as nearly 40 golfers descended upon the stunning grounds of Hampton Court Palace golf club for the first event of the year.
Despite the wet winter, the course was in great condition, and our members made the most of it, with a large amount of high scores being posted.
In the end, Tariq Majumder emerged as the men's winner, posting an impressive 45 stableford points. Faisal Islam took second place with 40 points.
The ladies' competition was equally hard-fought, with Leslie Glancy taking the top prize, followed by Zoe Turner in second place. Margaret Palmer won the ladies' nearest the pin contest on the challenging 12th hole.
The men's nearest the pin on the picturesque 17th par 3 was claimed by Ollie Wapshott, while Jon Grafton won the men's nearest the pin in two on the third hole.
Overall, it was an excellent day for all involved, with the society's new members making a strong showing and enjoying the hospitality shown by the Hampton Court Palace golf club.
As WLGS continues its 2023 season, members can look forward to many more exciting events and thrilling competitions, with our next event less than one month away at Silvermere Golf & Leisure.
