What the course say:

Now approaching 50 years old Winter Hill Golf Club has matured into an fantastic test of golf. The emphasis at Winter Hill is on accuracy rather than length, and the ability to get into position to leave an easy shot to the green is important.

Our greens and fairways are regarded as some of the best in the region. The course is situated on a gentle east-facing hillside and is one of the most attractive courses in the Thames Valley. The panoramic views over the river at Cookham are breathtaking and on a clear day, you can see as far as Ascot and beyond. In addition, the fairways, tees and greens are playable throughout the year, thanks to excellent natural drainage.

The course is a real joy to play. The changes in elevation test club selection; on some holes you are forced to play approach shots into greens which lie as much as 50′ below you. Knowing your yardages is critical to good scoring at Winter Hill.
